Talking about giving, let's take a look at Luke’s Gospel, 6:38: Jesus says, “Give, and it will be given to you: Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
There are important messages in this passage.
First, Jesus is telling us to give. This is not a matter of question or suggestion; it is a command. Jesus calls for us to give into His kingdom, and the beauty of His command is that not only will our giving circulate back to us, but our blessing will be “pressed down, shaken together, and RUNNING OVER”. It is like in the old fashion way when we used to buy grains and took an empty container to the market; the farmer placed it on the weight measure, zero the machine, and started pouring the grains into the container until it's running over. And, the farmer would charge you only the full container, while all the "running over" grains would yours to keep for free.
Second, Jesus also says that with the same measure that you give to others (or church), it will be returned to you. God is doing "matching funds" here when talking about giving. We don't actually lose anything when investing in the kingdom of God, but the seeds we've planted would be returned to our harvest in whatever size that was planted. The more seed that is planted, the greater the harvest.
So, when you give into God’s kingdom, have faith that your gifts will be circulated back with even greater blessings—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. It's not just going to make your life fruitful, but also make the harvest of the church abundant.
